On day three, we go through Changping Valley. The path leading to it is quite different from that to Double Bridge Valley. It is only wide enough for a single person to go through, and struggling over it becomes a really tiring and challenging job.

Weather at the mountain changes within moments. While Mt. Four Sisters can still be seen from afar in the morning, an hour later it is shrouded by vapour, which turns denser and denser to completely veil the four girls. The guide tells us that high temperatures at noon thaw the piled-up snow on the mountains, and the resulting vapours will easily lead to this inconvenient weather.

拐 弯 上 到 一 高 台 坡 上 ， 一 座 坍 塌 的 庙 宇 闯 进 了 视 野 。 这 就 是 当 年 各 族 人 民 纪 念 四 姐 妹 而 修 筑 的 “ 四 姑 娘 庙 ” ， 又 称 “ 喇 嘛 庙 ” 。 盛 期 有 二 百 多 个 喇 嘛 居 住 此 中 ， 为 她 们 念 经 、 祈 祷 ， 可 惜 文 革 时 被 毁 。 白 白 的 墙 粉 ， 早 已 剥 蚀 脱 落 ， 支 撑 的 梁 柱 也 没 有 了 踪 影 ， 墙 石 缝 间 长 满 了 杂 乱 衰 芜 的 茅 草 ， 唯 有 寺 外 用 嘛 呢 石 垒 起 的 经 幡 堆 和 松 烟 依 依 的 火 塘 坑 ， 在 提 醒 我 ， 这 里 至 今 仍 然 是 面 向 神 山 祷 告 的 神 圣 处 所 。 值 得 庆 幸 的 是 ， 寺 院 正 前 方 有 几 株 参 天 的 桦 树 ， 金 黄 的 叶 子 在 微 风 的 拂 撩 下 沙 沙 作 响 ， 轻 声 诉 说 着 寺 院 的 苍 桑 和 年 轮 。

Turning to a hillside higher up, we see the Four Sisters Temple, which is a lama temple in memory of the four girls. We are told that the temple once housed as many as 200 lama monks, praying every day for the four sisters. Unfortunately, the temple was partly destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Supporting pillars have disappeared, and the fissures in the wall stones have been largely invaded by savage weeds. Only the remaining incense sticks tell of a sanctuary for the sacred mountains.

四 姑 娘 山 上 的 云 似 乎 重 得 难 以 支 撑 住 了 ， 渐 渐 向 山 腰 、 山 脚 压 下 来 。 天 暗 了 ， 要 下 雨 了 ， 向 导 肯 定 地 告 诉 我 们 。 果 然 ， 傍 晚 ６ 时 左 右 飘 忽 的 小 雨 沥 沥 而 下 。 吃 罢 晚 饭 ， 大 伙 儿 男 女 老 少 围 坐 在 电 炉 旁 取 暖 御 寒 ， 谈 天 说 地 间 ， 总 是 隐 隐 有 种 焦 虑 ， 明 天 的 天 气 会 什 么 样 ？ 来 这 儿 已 经 三 天 了 ， 天 气 都 不 错 ， 偏 偏 在 现 在 下 起 了 雨 ， 晚 两 天 下 就 好 了 ， 那 时 我 们 归 期 已 到 。 一 位 刚 从 小 金 县 城 毕 业 的 藏 族 高 中 生 不 紧 不 慢 地 翻 弄 着 被 冻 僵 的 手 说 ， 没 事 ， 今 晚 看 来 还 要 下 雪 ， 明 天 会 晴 的 。 但 愿 这 位 二 十 岁 的 伙 计 说 得 不 错 ， 况 且 也 只 有 听 天 由 命 了 。

一 觉 醒 来 拉 开 窗 帘 ， 稀 疏 雾 气 中 杉 树 林 从 半 山 腰 往 上 都 被 挂 上 了 一 层 霜 冻 ， 不 对 ， 霜 冻 怎 么 会 只 在 半 山 腰 以 上 呢 ？ 山 脚 下 也 应 该 有 呀 。 是 雪 ， 昨 晚 上 真 的 下 了 小 雪 。 起 床 ， 上 山 ， 看 看 雪 后 的 四 姑 娘 山 是 什 么 样 的 。 出 镇 子 往 回 卧 龙 方 向 的 路 开 了 8 公 里 ， 从 这 里 向 北 偏 东 方 向 翘 望 ， 在 一 堵 被 当 地 人 称 作 锅 庄 坪 的 山 坡 之 后 ， 是 正 从 升 腾 消 散 的 云 雾 晃 然 而 出 的 大 姑 娘 、 二 姑 娘 、 三 姑 娘 、 四 姑 娘 四 座 山 峰 。 因 为 我 们 站 的 地 势 高 ， 又 有 锅 庄 坪 和 周 围 山 坡 斜 形 线 条 作 交 叉 衬 托 ， 所 以 四 姑 娘 山 的 山 形 和 风 姿 能 完 整 无 缺 的 显 露 出 来 。 “ 找 到 了 ！ 找 到 了 ！ ” 同 伴 们 欣 喜 地 叫 道 ， 找 到 了 拍 摄 四 姑 娘 山 的 最 佳 角 度 。 角 度 终 于 找 到 了 ， 可 时 值 中 午 ， 光 线 把 山 形 压 成 了 一 块 平 面 ， 没 有 日 落 侧 光 的 塑 形 ， 山 的 质 感 和 气 势 就 无 从 表 现 。 要 捕 捉 到 最 美 妙 的 镜 头 ， 就 要 能 承 受 时 间 和 空 间 障 碍 的 折 磨 ， 没 有 良 好 的 心 理 素 质 是 不 行 的 。

Next morning, we wake to find that the woods showing through the thin haze on the hillsides are covered with white snow. We are prompted to see how Mt. Four Sisters looks after the slight snowfall.

Going out of the village, we drive 8 km to reach a place called Lying-Dragon, or Wolong. Behind the scene is the fantastic view of the Four Sisters, who are showing their bashful faces among the dissipating clouds and vapours.

"We found it! We found it!" is the exclamation from the tired but excited climbers. Yes, the optimum photographic angle has been found, though we still have to wait for the best lighting to arrive.

时 针 嘀 嘀 嗒 嗒 地 慢 慢 跳 跃 ， 周 围 一 切 都 寂 静 如 夜 ， 多 么 希 望 锅 庄 坪 上 此 时 是 农 历 四 月 二 十 四 日 之 后 的 几 天 时 光 呵 ， 因 为 如 果 适 逢 这 时 ， 来 自 日 隆 附 近 几 个 寨 子 的 农 、 牧 民 会 在 这 几 天 举 办 七 天 盛 会 ， 赛 马 、 跳 锅 庄 舞 ， 向 四 位 姑 娘 表 达 美 好 的 祝 福 。 时 光 在 这 样 的 气 氛 中 就 只 能 觉 得 短 暂 而 不 是 漫 长 。

There is a reassuring silence all around. How we wish that it was the 24th of April, when the locals from the neighbouring villages gather together here for a 7-day celebration, expressing their gratitude to the Four Sisters.

太 阳 的 轨 迹 渐 渐 向 西 边 山 际 移 去 ， 透 过 西 边 薄 薄 的 岚 霭 ， 最 高 的 四 姑 娘 峰 开 始 发 亮 ， 而 锅 庄 坪 最 先 被 余 晖 披 换 上 一 层 辉 煌 的 丝 绒 ， 那 美 妙 的 色 泽 和 质 感 仿 佛 可 以 用 手 去 触 摸 、 抚 慰 。 紧 接 着 ， 其 余 三 位 姑 娘 峰 也 光 亮 了 许 多 ， 斜 阳 与 白 雪 的 交 融 、 碰 撞 ， 折 射 出 少 女 般 的 红 晕 。 也 许 是 同 胞 姐 妹 的 缘 故 ， 灵 犀 一 点 就 通 ， 象 感 应 似 的 ， 霎 那 间 四 位 姑 娘 全 被 落 日 最 后 的 亲 吻 吻 得 羞 红 了 脸 颊 ， 就 连 天 使 般 环 绕 在 她 们 身 边 的 朵 朵 白 雪 ， 也 被 她 们 羞 媚 的 姻 脂 红 映 红 了 。 而 若 再 稍 低 头 看 看 近 处 的 锅 庄 坪 ， 则 已 悄 然 退 出 了 阳 光 的 世 界 ， 各 周 围 的 其 它 山 峰 一 道 ， 将 余 晖 让 给 了 更 高 处 、 更 令 人 消 魂 的 四 位 姑 娘 。 日 仍 然 在 往 下 沉 去 ， 折 射 出 的 光 域 也 在 渐 渐 地 往 山 峰 的 顶 端 蠕 动 ， 峭 立 的 峰 峦 益 发 演 奏 出 红 与 黑 的 乐 章 ， 冰 清 玉 洁 的 四 姑 娘 披 盖 着 薄 如 蝉 翼 的 轻 妙 ， 在 祥 和 欢 乐 的 红 云 的 陪 伴 下 ， 带 着 对 人 间 难 以 言 状 的 留 恋 和 羞 涩 ， 最 后 一 个 消 失 在 光 的 世 界 之 外 。

The sun is moving slowly towards the western skies. Through the thin mist in the west, the peaks are being bathed with the twilight. The splendid colours are seducing us to touch them. White clouds encircling the peaks are reflecting the spectrum of the setting sun. Such a beautiful view is really rare ...

还 能 见 到 这 样 的 美 景 吗 ？ 一 位 同 伴 首 先 打 破 了 潜 藏 着 狂 喜 之 心 的 沉 默 。 能 ， 但 不 知 道 是 哪 一 天 ， 再 说 看 到 了 ， 恐 怕 也 不 会 有 这 次 这 种 感 受 ， 我 说 。

"Will we be able to see such a view in our lives again?" a colleague asks.

"Yes, of course. Some day we all surely will. It's just that our feelings then will be different from at this moment," I say.
